Chris Johnson

I'm a technology professional and hobbyist who finds ways to teach others in every position I've ever held.

What I Do

Technology Professional

I created my first website at 17 years old. I was an A/V club geek, and wanted to make a website for our club. Since then I've worn many hats while gaining experience in Operations, Service Desk, Server Administration, Server Virtualization, Data Backup and Recovery, Infrastructure Architecture, IT Audit, Software Architecture, and Cyber Security.

Technology Hobbyist

There's not a lot of technology I don't enjoy learning about. Some aspects I enjoy so much I find myself tinkering in my personal time! I can often be found working on various Raspberry Pi projects, custom-building PCs, or continuing to evolve my home lab.

Research

I had the good fortune of meeting a professor in grad school who invited me to collaborate on a case study for a cyber security incident. It led into my first time being published and presenting on a topic at a conference. I enjoy these activities and am finding ways to apply my background (as well as my home lab) into new research.

Teaching

I began teaching credit college courses in January 2024. While it's a new part of my life, it's something I know I was born to do and enjoy everything about it. I'm also currently pursuing a PH.D. in Information Systems and Communications.
